Culiacán, Sin.- The traditional summer sports courses at the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS) 2026 were concluded at the university campus. The closing ceremony was led by Olympian Itzel Manjarrez, Deputy Director of UAS Sports, representing the Director of UAS Sports, Fernando Medina León. A hundred children participated in physical activities in sports such as: Tae Kwon Do, Soccer, Volleyball, Swimming, Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Karate, Basketball, and Boxing, among others. At the end of the simple closing ceremony, the children received certificates recognizing their attendance at the UAS 2026 summer sports courses.

“The main objectives of the courses were: For children to engage in physical activity. The second was to detect talent, and the third was to invite them to the regular classes we offer year-round in our permanent sports schools at UAS,” stated Manjarrez Bastidas, adding:

“I wish to publicly recognize the children who attended, their parents who followed up, and the situation the UAS went through in recent days. Thanks to the coaches who took the lead and were ready to assist and share their knowledge, and of course, to our authorities led by the rector, Dr. Jesús Madueña Molina, and our Director of Sports, Fernando Medina, who entrusted me to lead these courses.”
