Mazatlán boxer Hugo Padilla has his sights set on participating in the Lima 2027 Pan American Games, an event that will take place in Peru from July 23 to August 8, 2027, where he will aim to represent Mexico in the continent's premier sporting event.

After being the best in his category at the Olympic Festival held in Oaxtepec, Morelos, this Tuesday, September 22, 2026, Padilla is currently training alongside Pedro Guerrero from Culiacán at the National Center for High Performance.

With constant preparation, the boxing student from the Faculty of Law at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa is under the guidance of Radames Hernández, who in recent years has successfully coached fighters such as Pedro Guevara, Marco Verde, Tamara Cruz, and Esmeralda Juárez to represent Mexico in various boxing arenas.

The challenge is considerable, as competition in the continent is increasingly demanding, and only the top-performing athletes will secure qualification. Furthermore, this sporting cycle is also part of the process towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, which further elevates the importance of each competition.
