Pamplona, Spain.- The Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS) junior aerobic gymnastics team has returned from Pamplona, Spain. They participated in the specialty's world championship alongside competitors from forty countries.

“It was a great experience for them and for myself, and it was very helpful for the next international tournament we have in sight, which is the Pan American Junior Aerobic Gymnastics Championship in Brazil in November.”

These were the words of Anagallis Peña, UAS gymnastics coach, who led the team to Spain. She and her athletes were welcomed with a gathering by the coordinator of the UAS gymnastics gym, Diego Castañeda.

The students who traveled to the Iberian Peninsula representing the gymnastics of the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa and Mexico were: Hanna Chávez, Danna Partida, Lia Peraza, and Nathalia García; all of them full-time students of Anagallis Peña. It is worth mentioning that this team was reinforced with members from the Borregos gymnastics club, also from Culiacán.

“The results we obtained were: in the junior category, in the aerostep modality, we reached the finals and finished in seventh place worldwide. Meanwhile, in the Youth women's individual category, we placed 30th worldwide among more than 100 routines from over 40 countries.”

“These results encourage us to keep working. In the short term, they will be the ones to bring us medals at the UAS in the ANUIES National Games,” concluded the UAS coach Anagallis Peña in an interview.
