Zacatecas.- Alexander Félix, won a third-place national finish to lead the Academia Águilas UAS team, which participated in the Mexican Tae Kwon Do Festival held in Zacatecas last weekend. The Mexican Tae Kwon Do Festival is one of the most important federated events in the country, bringing together high-level athletes in the Combat and Poomsae disciplines. Divisions can have 40, 50, or even 70 athletes, so advancing several rounds represents a significant achievement. Therefore, a third-place finish for Alexander Félix is very commendable, as are the fifth place nationally for Claudia Ruelas and 9th place for Camila Ramírez. Additionally, the outstanding participation of Ángel Ruelas, Scarlett Ortiz, and Elser Ortiz is recognized, as they demonstrated dedication, discipline, and commitment during each of their bouts. It is worth highlighting that for the first time in the history of the Águilas UAS taekwondo school, they had representation in an event of this magnitude in the Poomsae discipline, with athletes: Paulina Gisel Mendoza Garay, a student at Preparatoria Flores Magón, and Lía Carolina Osuna Chávez. All of them were led by coach Roberto Medina. “In these types of events, the work, consistency, and preparation that our athletes undertake day by day in our Tae Kwon Do academy are reflected. This project is supported by our rector, Dr. Jesús Madueña Molina.” These were the motivating words of Olympian Itzel Manjarrez, who, as deputy director of Sports UAS, closely followed their performance throughout the event.
