Irapuato, Guanajuato.- The UAS Eagles high school weightlifting team, representing our esteemed institution at the U15 and U17 National Championship held in Irapuato, Guanajuato, from August 26th to 30th, achieved a great haul of medals. In total, they secured 15 national medals: 8 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze.

Irving Rivera López from Rafael Buelna High School and Uziel Palazuelos Burgueño from Zapata High School, students of Jorge Huie Molinet, achieved the following: Irving earned 2 gold medals and one silver, while Uziel won 3 bronze medals.

“The participation in this event reflects our work in developing talent for the senior team. Furthermore, we are not only including athletes from Culiacán but also from the northern and north-central regions of our state,” stated the head of the weightlifting program at UAS, Jorge Luis Huie Camacho.

Also participating in this national event was Martha Montoya from Angostura, who has experience in international competitions and won 3 gold medals at this national championship. Brianna García Esparza, a student from Guamúchil High School, also secured 3 gold medals. Yeraldine Acosta from Guasave, earned three silver medals.
