ÁGUILAS UAS PAN AMERICAN WRESTLING CHAMPIONS IN BRAZIL
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.- Mexico was crowned team champions in Greco-Roman wrestling at the U20 Pan American tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Within that team were 4 members of the Águilas UAS team, considered the best university wrestling team in the country. Mervyn Leyva, head of the wrestling program at the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, reported that the Águilas UAS medalists were: Rodrigo Falcón Aguirre (Silver Medal) in the 60 kg division. Daniela Guevara Pimentel, a student at FEFyDE, won a silver medal in the 63 kg division. Additionally, Heder Andrei Yamil Saldaña won a gold medal in the 82 kg division, and Dorian Emmanuel Trejo Olguín also won a gold medal in the 97 kg division. These last two are new students at UAS and are now Pan American champions. Meanwhile, Master Orestes Morales, also a wrestling coach at UAS, informed that his protégé and nephew, David Morales, a student at Psychology Navolato, continues to train with the senior national team in the country's capital. "In fact, David was called up for a U23 Pan American tournament in Peru. However, we declined because we also saw it as a great opportunity for him to stay and train with the senior national team," concluded Master Orestes Morales.
