Chepe Zazueta Lima, Peru.- Melanie Jiménez, in the 61-kilo category, and Rodrigo Falcón, in the [category not specified], members of the Águilas UAS wrestling team, were proclaimed Pan American wrestling champions by winning gold medals at the U21 championship held in Lima, Peru. Melanie Jiménez, a student at the Faculty of Law and a protégé of Mervyn Leyva, also won the Golden Boot as the best wrestler of the entire event. Meanwhile, her sister Edna Jiménez, a psychology student, won a silver medal in her category. The Jiménez sisters, originally from Jalisco, won a gold medal for UAS in the ANUIES national championships just a few weeks ago. In the men's division, Rodrigo Falcón, from FEFyDe and a protégé of Orestes Morales, won a gold medal in the 60-kilo division. Meanwhile, Osvaldo Yañez took home a bronze medal in the 72-kilo category.
