A LEGEND! MARIANO RIVERA, THE KING OF SAVES, WILL BE AT CANCUN WEEK 2026
The legendary Mariano Rivera, considered the greatest relief pitcher in Major League history, will be one of the major figures present at Baseball United: Cancún Week 2026, an event that will be held from November 4-7 in Cancún, Quintana Roo, bringing together renowned international baseball stars.
The historic Panamanian pitcher built an unforgettable career over 19 seasons with the New York Yankees (1995-2013), setting the record for 652 saves, in addition to recording 1,173 strikeouts and an extraordinary 2.21 ERA, numbers that solidified him as one of the most dominant closers of all time.
His legacy was also marked by winning five World Series championships, 13 All-Star Game selections, and a record 42 postseason saves. His impressive cut fastball, known as the cutter, became a nightmare for hitters and was one of the main weapons that led him to dominate the mound for nearly two decades.
In 2019, Rivera achieved immortality by becoming the first player elected unanimously to the Cooperstown Hall of Fame, receiving 425 out of 425 possible votes. Now, his presence will be one of the main attractions of Cancún Week, an event that will include the Celebrity Softball Game on November 7 at the Beto Ávila Stadium.
At this event, Tropheo will be the official scoring partner, recording statistics and every play in real-time, as well as allowing fans to participate in the election of the Most Valuable Player (MVP). The arrival of Mariano Rivera in Cancún represents a unique opportunity to celebrate the legacy of the man who turned the final three outs into history and earned an eternal place among the greatest legends of the king of sports.
