Rafael Márquez presented his first squad list as head coach of the Mexican National Team on September 17th, with a roster of 30 players to begin the process towards the 2030 World Cup. Among the main new faces compared to the World Cup are Óscar García, Everardo López, Jeremy Márquez, Álvaro Fidalgo, Denzell García, Diego Campillo, Hugo Camberos, Santiago Sandoval, and Isaías Violante, while the return of Hirving “Chucky” Lozano also stands out, as he rejoins the Tricolor after not participating in the World Cup. Alan Cervantes also reappears in a senior squad call-up, while Márquez continues to bet on young talents like Gilberto Mora and Obed Vargas.

Márquez's first squad will be used for a four-match friendly tour in the United States: Mexico will face Colombia on September 26th in Baltimore, Peru on the 29th in New Jersey, the United States on October 3rd in Phoenix, and will close against Chile on October 6th in Los Angeles. With these matches, the new coach's cycle officially begins, and he has indicated that he has a radar on over 60 players to broaden options for the next World Cup cycle.
