Milwaukee Makes History, Wins First World Series Title
The Milwaukee Brewers have won their first Major League Baseball World Series championship, after defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in the fifth game of the finals, played on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Tropicana Field. With this result, the Milwaukee nine ended a long wait and secured the most important title in their history, after decades of attempts to reach the pinnacle of professional baseball.
The victory was backed by an outstanding performance from pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, who held the opposing offense scoreless for five and two-thirds innings. On offense, rookie Cooper Pratt contributed two RBIs, while the team maintained control of the game to secure a three-run victory. Despite Tampa Bay's rally in the ninth inning, Milwaukee's bullpen managed to contain the attack and secure the final result.
The championship represents a historic achievement for a franchise that played in its last World Series in 1982, when they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals. Before reaching the 2026 finals, Milwaukee defeated the San Diego Padres in the Division Series and eliminated the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. With this triumph, the Brewers have written a new chapter in their history and given their fans a celebration long-awaited by generations.
