México closed its participation in the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games with a historic result. The Mexican delegation finished in first place in the medal standings with a total of 407 medals, surpassing the 353 medals they had won in San Salvador 2023. With this result, Mexico achieved its best performance in the history of this competition.

The final medal count for Mexico consisted of 167 gold medals, 125 silver, and 115 bronze. The Mexican delegation remained in first place above Colombia and Cuba, who finished in second and third place, respectively.

Among the Mexican athletes who stood out during the competition was swimmer Celia Pulido, who won 11 medals, eight of them gold, one silver, and two bronze. Athletes such as Osmar Olvera, Juan Manuel Celaya, Alegna González, and Beatriz Briones also excelled, contributing to Mexico's outstanding performance.

The 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games concluded on August 8 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. For Mexico, the competition represented an important participation due to the record number of medals achieved and the first place obtained in the medal standings. The result also highlights the performance of Mexican athletes in one of the region's main sporting events.
