Mario “Mono” Osuna revealed details about the high salary that, as he recalled, Guillermo “Paco Memo” Ochoa received during his second stint with Club América. The former footballer pointed out that the Mexican goalkeeper earned around 6 million pesos per month, an amount that would represent approximately 72 million pesos annually, not including bonuses or other benefits. Osuna shared this information while discussing his experience as a locker room teammate of the historic América goalkeeper.

The former midfielder also put into perspective the salary difference within a professional squad by comparing Ochoa's earnings with what he himself used to make. Osuna recalled that his best salary as a footballer was approximately 750,000 pesos per month, when he played for Monarcas Morelia. According to those figures, the monthly income attributed to Ochoa was eight times higher than the maximum salary Osuna stated he received during his career.

“Mono” Osuna's statements also offer a glimpse into the amounts that can be involved with the most experienced and recognized footballers in Liga MX. Ochoa returned to América in 2019 after playing in Europe and subsequently re-established himself as one of the main figures of the club and the Mexican National Team.
