After several weeks of waiting, Marco Verde now has a confirmed rival for his return to the ring: Canada's Guillermo Hernández, who comes in undefeated and with knockout power. The bout will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California, on a card headlined by Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz. The fight is scheduled for eight rounds in the middleweight division, at 160 pounds, and the event will begin at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time (7:00 p.m. Sinaloa time and 8:00 p.m. Central Mexico time).

The fighter from Mazatlán will enter this bout with a professional record of 6 wins and no losses, with three victories by knockout, while his opponent, Guillermo “Warrior” Hernández, boasts a record of 7-0 and four wins by the fast route. The Canadian, originally from Calgary, Alberta, also has Salvadoran roots, is 29 years old, and will make his professional debut on U.S. soil. Hernández is coming off a unanimous decision win over Diego Jair Pérez Vigil in May, after having stopped four of his first six opponents.

For Verde, 24, this will be his seventh professional appearance and the first he will contest over eight rounds, another step in his adaptation process to professional boxing after winning the silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
