The parathletes from Mazatlán had an outstanding performance at the Tlaxcala 2026 Parathletics Grand Prix, securing four medals for the Mexican delegation and reaffirming the competitive level of adapted sports in Sinaloa. Rosa María Guerrero Cázares led the medal haul by winning the gold medal in the F54/F55 discus throw with a mark of 26.95 meters, while Yenifer Monserrat Rodríguez Vizcarra also reached the top of the podium after winning the F32 shot put with a record of 3.79 meters.

The coastal representation maintained its prominence with Silvana María Quiñones Ramírez's silver medal in the 100 meters T37 category, stopping the clock at 15.95 seconds, just behind Costa Rica's Ana Orozco Trejo. Meanwhile, Vidathzy Inclán Silva completed the outstanding participation by taking bronze in the F51, F52, and F53 discus throw categories thanks to a best attempt of 3.08 meters, closing a day of great results for Mazatlán.

The Parathletics Grand Prix, held at the "Una Nueva Historia" Athletics Center in Apizaco, Tlaxcala, brings together the best exponents of adapted sports and represents an important platform for future international competitions. This edition features 18 parathletes from Sinaloa municipalities such as Mazatlán, Guasave, Culiacán, Mocorito, and Angostura, who are seeking to continue contributing medals for Mexico and secure their spots in events like the Cali Grand Prix in Colombia, scheduled for September.
