Young cyclist Romina Hinojosa debuted in the prestigious 2026 Tour de France Femmes, becoming the first Mexican to compete in this demanding event and making it clear that the country is beginning to forge its path in the elite of world cycling.

In the first stage, held over a 138-kilometer route in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Mexican managed to complete the course and finish in 129th place for the day, placing her in 130th position in the general classification. Beyond the result, her participation represents a historic achievement by remaining in competition within one of the toughest races on the international calendar.

The stage was dominated by Dutch rider Lorena Wiebes, who took the victory and donned the first yellow jersey, showcasing the high competitive level Hinojosa is facing in her first Tour experience.
