Jordán Carrillo Breaks Scoring Drought and Rescues Draw for Chivas
Sinaloan Jordán Carrillo debuted as a goalscorer for Chivas Guadalajara by netting the equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Tigres, during matchday 12 of the Apertura 2026 Liga MX season, played on Saturday, October 17th, at the Estadio Akron. The footballer, originally from Culiacán, Sinaloa, scored in the 77th minute after capitalizing on a loose ball inside the box, following an offensive play initiated by Efraín Álvarez. With this goal, Carrillo prevented the Rojiblanco squad from losing in front of their home crowd.
Carrillo achieved his first goal with Guadalajara after playing eight previous matches without scoring for the club, according to his record from games prior to this one. His participation against Tigres came as a substitute off the bench, and he proved decisive in the final score. The 24-year-old midfielder joined El Rebaño in 2026 after stints with Pumas UNAM and Santos Laguna, the team where he developed his footballing skills.
Despite the Culiacán native's goal, Chivas could not complete the comeback and earned one point, bringing their total to 20 units in the Apertura 2026. Tigres had taken the lead in the 36th minute through Juan Brunetta, who was sent off before halftime, meaning Guadalajara played the entire second half with a numerical advantage. The draw left the Rojiblanco team with four consecutive matches without a win, while Carrillo's goal represented a positive sign for the player in his pursuit of greater prominence within the squad.
