Los Angeles Dodgers once again clinched the National League West Division championship after defeating the Cincinnati Reds 8-2 at Great American Ball Park. With this result, the Los Angeles team reached a record of 93-60 and secured their fifth consecutive divisional title, in addition to winning 13 crowns in the last 14 seasons. The team also extended their postseason appearances to 14 consecutive years, tying a Major League record previously set by the Atlanta Braves.

Kyle Tucker was one of the main figures in the victory that sealed the championship, hitting four hits in five at-bats, including a home run and two doubles, in addition to driving in three runs. Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, Josue De Paula, and Miguel Rojas also contributed to the Los Angeles offense, which took a 7-0 lead as early as the fourth inning. Tucker, acquired during the winter via a four-year, $240 million contract, delivered at a key moment for the organization.

After winning the 2024 and 2025 World Series, the Dodgers are now looking to become the first team since the New York Yankees from 1998-2000 to win three consecutive championships. To do so, they have a roster led by stars such as Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman, as well as a rotation that can include Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tarik Skubal, Blake Snell, and Tyler Glasnow. However, injuries and some bullpen concerns are aspects that the Los Angeles club will need to resolve before facing the postseason.
