GOVERNOR'S CUP 2026 TO BRING THREE DAYS OF PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL TO GUAMÚCHIL
Guamúchil, Sinaloa.— The 2026 Governor's Cup will bring together the four Sinaloan teams from the Mexican Pacific League at the Alberto Vega Chávez stadium in Guamúchil, as part of their preparation for the 2026-2027 season. Cañeros de Los Mochis, Algodoneros de Guasave, Tomateros de Culiacán, and Venados de Mazatlán will play six games between October 7 and 9, with two games scheduled per day. This year's edition also represents a historic change in the naming of the traditional tournament, which for the first time is presented as the Governor's Cup.
The action will begin on Wednesday, October 7 at 5:00 PM with the matchup between Algodoneros and Tomateros, while at 8:00 PM, Cañeros and Venados will face off. For Thursday, October 8, Algodoneros will play Cañeros at 5:00 PM and Tomateros will meet Venados at 8:00 PM. The schedule will conclude on Friday, October 9 with Algodoneros against Venados at 5:00 PM and Cañeros facing Tomateros at 8:00 PM. In this way, each of the four organizations will have three preparation commitments before the start of the LMP season.
Admission will cost 100 pesos per person to enjoy the two games each day, while a three-day pass will be priced at 200 pesos and will include all six games. In addition to the sporting aspect, the tournament will have a social component, as the funds raised will be donated to Bomberos Guamúchil, Fundación Mayla, and the Banda de Guerra Escorpiones. With four professional clubs, six games, and three consecutive days, Guamúchil will become the venue for one of the final preparation stages for the Sinaloan teams before the start of the 2026-2027 Mexican Pacific League season.
