Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The fifth edition of the Carrera Rosa-Delia Barraza 2026 has its date and venue confirmed in the capital of Sinaloa. The event is organized by Vibra Medios, Los Noticieristas, and La Bella 104.9 FM, with the support of sports and social institutions such as the Sinaloan Institute of Physical Culture and Sport (ISDE), the Municipal Institute of Sport and Physical Culture of Culiacán (IMDEC), and DIF Sinaloa. In Culiacán, the competition will take place on Sunday, October 11, at 7:00 AM, with the start and finish line in front of Fórum Culiacán, on Diego Valadés Ríos boulevard, known as Malecón Nuevo, with a route to the UAS University Theater and back to the starting point. The Carrera Rosa will also have an edition in Mazatlán on October 4.

The main objective of this initiative is to promote early detection of breast cancer, as well as encourage physical activity and raise awareness among the population. The 2026 edition will also be a tribute to those who are facing or have faced this disease, as the names of selected individuals will be featured on the commemorative t-shirt. The competition includes distances of 2, 5, and 10 kilometers in a recreational category, while the competitive category will have 5 and 10 kilometer races. General registration will be 350 pesos for recreational and 450 pesos for competitive, although there will be an early bird sale until September 20, with costs of 300 and 400 pesos, respectively. The kits include a t-shirt, bib number, medal, hydration, and access to the recovery area; for competitive runners, a tracking chip is also included.

In the sports section, the organization will award the top three finishers in the female and male categories for the competitive 5 and 10 kilometer races. For the 10K, the prizes will be 3,500, 2,500, and 1,500 pesos for first, second, and third place, respectively; while for the 5K, 3,000, 2,000, and 1,000 pesos will be awarded. This represents a prize pool of 24,000 pesos considering both genders and distances. In addition to the support from ISDE and IMDEC, DIF Sinaloa participates as a beneficiary institution and has indicated that part of the funds will be allocated to support programs, including cancer medications, wigs, lymphatic massages, and breast reconstruction surgeries; during the event, health services will also be available to conduct screenings such as mammograms, ultrasounds, and Pap smears.
