CARLOS DE LA CRUZ JOINS MAYOS DE NAVOJOA AS FOREIGN REINFORCEMENT

By Pavel Rochin

The Mayos de Navojoa continue to strengthen their roster for the 2026-2027 Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico season, confirming the addition of American Carlos de la Cruz. The 26-year-old player arrives with the mission of contributing offensive power and speed, in addition to having the versatility to play all three outfield positions and first base.

Originally from Yonkers, New York, De la Cruz stands 2.03 meters tall and weighs 94 kilograms. Throughout his career, he belonged to the Philadelphia Phillies organizations from 2018 to 2024, and later to the Washington Nationals from 2025 to 2026, reaching the Triple-A level. He currently plays for the Charleston Dirty Birds of the Atlantic League, where he has a batting average of .321, along with 28 home runs, one triple, and 24 doubles.

The new reinforcement also has notable achievements in Minor League Baseball, as in 2023 he led the Double-A Eastern League in hits, with 132 hits in 129 games. De la Cruz thus becomes the fifth foreign player confirmed by the Navojoa management and will be under the orders of manager Miguel Tejada, aiming to be an important piece in the Mayos' return to the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico.
