PARTICIPATING IN THE DRAFT LEAGUE TAUGHT ME A GREAT DEAL: ROMMEL QUEZADA
Culiacán, Sin.- "It was a great pleasure to represent the Mexican Baseball League's prospect team, and the Diablos Rojos del México in the 'Draft League'. I'm very grateful they considered us."
Declared the Sinaloan player, Rommel Quezada, who was part of this Mexican select team during the nine-game tour they held in the United States in: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and West Virginia. These games are part of the development of young Mexican talents seeking to forge a career on the diamond.
"Being part of the Mexico team, representing the Mexican flag at such a high level, is something I truly didn't expect, and being able to interact with all these superior-level players is something that inspires me and motivates me to keep going and improving," insisted the Culiacán player.
Rommel Quezada was part of this Mexican select team that participated in this first edition of the Draft League, organized by MLB, where a team of Canadian prospects also attended, facing Double-A professional teams from the United States.
Rommel Jr. had the opportunity to cover several positions: designated hitter, outfielder, and catcher; which is the position he has covered most in recent months.
"I confirmed that I need to improve in technical aspects, defensive skills behind the plate, and work even harder on my physical condition. But at the same time, I realized that I can compete at this level, as long as I am honest with my effort and work."
"I also take this opportunity to thank the Diablos Rojos del México. The organization that signed me. I insist I am grateful for the trust they have placed in me, and I will do everything humanly possible to reciprocate that trust."
For Rommel Quezada, there has been a figure who has exerted great influence on his mentality and athletic level in recent months:
"Being at Robinson Cano's academy, honestly, changed how I see baseball, the love I have for this sport. And it made me see the talent I have, how far I can go with hard work and self-confidence. They have helped me immensely; thanks to Robinson Cano and his team."
Lastly, and no less importantly, he expressed his gratitude to his parents. Stating the following: "I have the best parents. I am grateful for the sacrifices they have made for me. And for teaching me to never give up. It's my turn to repay with hard and honest work what they have done for me."
