The name of Joey Meneses once again ignites the hope of Mexican baseball. The Sinaloan is back for what is his fourth Major League season after being considered once again by the Oakland Athletics, an organization that has given him a new opportunity after his time in the Minor Leagues. The possibility of seeing him on the biggest stage again is no longer a distant dream, but a reality taking shape.

After a 2025 away from the media spotlight, Meneses bet on consistency and quiet work. His performance in Triple-A was key to staying relevant with a .348 average, accompanied by 11 home runs, 76 RBIs, and 20 doubles, demonstrating that his offensive ability remains intact. With previous experience in Major League Baseball, including an impactful 2022 season with the Washington Nationals, when he hit .324 with 13 home runs and 34 RBIs in just 56 games, figures that show his ability to produce at the highest level. The Mexican understood that the path back would not be easy, but not impossible either.

The start of 2026 represented a turning point. After signing with Oakland and joining Spring Training, the Culiacán native left good impressions, although he had to return to the minor league affiliates momentarily. Far from giving up, he responded with solid performances that ultimately convinced the organization to put him back on the radar for the main roster.

Today, with maturity, experience, and a hunger for redemption, Joey Meneses is once again at the doors of the “Big Show.” His story is a reflection of perseverance in professional sports, where every opportunity counts.
