Culiacán, Sin.-Right-hander Marco Antonio Camarena carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning, but with one strike left to complete it, Venezuelan Nolan Pérez hit it between right and center field. Even so, the Lecani Astros defeated Trucking 4-1 to secure a semifinal spot in the JAPAC League's 50th Anniversary season.

With a good portion of the crowd on their feet and their teammates in the dugout shouting encouragement, Camarena threw a breaking ball that Nolan Pérez undoubtedly deposited over the fence. Immediately after, the manager went to the mound, congratulated him, and removed him to a loud and very deserved ovation. He pitched 8.2 innings, allowing only 1 hit, 2 walks, and striking out 8. Everardo Montoya handled the last third of the game, striking out Willy Castaños. The losing pitcher was Luis Salcido.

DODGERS ADVANCE TO SEMIFINALS

With Carlos Plata in "Gold" mode (4 hits, two of them home runs), and Priscy Ramos dominant once again from the mound, the Dodgers defeated Taqueria San Martín Jr 9-2 in the third game of the series, thereby securing their spot in the semifinals. Plata hit it out in the sixth and eighth innings, both with a runner on base.

The winning pitcher was Ramos with a clean performance, allowing 1 earned run in 7 innings. José Ángel Sauceda pitched the final 6 outs.

JAPAC ALSO A SEMIFINALIST

Radamés Robledo did not allow a run in 6 innings, giving up only 2 hits, and Bruce Barrueta allowed only a single in the remainder, as JAPAC defeated UADO-MR Concretos 2-0, and consequently, became semifinalists. Robledo's dominance was so overwhelming that only two outs were recorded in the outfield. The loss went to Jesús Corralez, who pitched 8 innings. One run scored in the first inning on an RBI single by Heriberto Herrera, scoring Brian Luna, and the other in the third on a "balk" that allowed Luna to score again.
