JEFF BRIGHAM WILL BE PART OF THE YAQUIS DE CIUDAD OBREGÓN FOREIGN LEGION
Ciudad Obregón, Sonora.- Yaquis de Obregón continues to strengthen its roster for the 2026-2027 season of the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico.
The Cajemense nine confirmed the signing of American pitcher Jeff Brigham, who has Major League experience and became the fifth foreigner secured by the team for the upcoming campaign.
The 34-year-old right-hander, born in Federal Way, Washington, began his professional career in 2014, when he was selected in the fourth round of the MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, his Major League debut came four years later, getting the opportunity with the Miami Marlins during the 2018 season.
Brigham also played for the New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks, the latter being his most recent team in 2025. Throughout his MLB career, the new Yaquis reinforcement has 94 appearances, four as a starter, with a 4.85 ERA, two saves, and 124 strikeouts in 120.2 innings of work.
The American also has experience in Mexican baseball, as during his career he had a brief stint in the Mexican Baseball League with the Saraperos de Saltillo. In that period, Brigham appeared in 12 relief appearances and worked 10 innings, in which he allowed seven earned runs and finished with no decision.
With Brigham's arrival, Yaquis now has five foreign players confirmed for the upcoming campaign. Aledmys Díaz, Kyle Garlick, Odrisamer Despaigne, and Allen Córdoba complete the list of announced reinforcements, so the organization still has two spots available to reach the limit allowed by the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico.
