Dorados de Sinaloa Suffers Second Consecutive Defeat and Remains Winless at Home
Dorados de Sinaloa was left empty-handed once again, falling 0-1 to Atlético Morelia in the sixth matchday of the Liga de Expansión MX, a result that marks their second consecutive loss in the tournament. El Gran Pez took a hard blow in the opening minutes when René López capitalized on a set-piece play, scoring the only goal of the match in the 3rd minute. The Sinaloan team couldn't overcome this advantage, despite creating several opportunities against the Michoacán goal.
The squad coached by Luis Alberto Orozco sought to react during the game and had chances to equalize through Jhan Rengifo and Contreras. For the second half, the strategist made changes, bringing in Leo Vargas, Óscar Coronel, Christian Castillo, and Abraham Flores, attempting to add more depth to the attack. Dorados even had an excellent opportunity from the penalty spot, but Leo Vargas sent his shot over the crossbar, missing the chance to salvage at least one point against a Morelia side that defended with order in the final minutes.
With this setback, Dorados continues without a home victory so far this campaign, having only managed to accumulate points through three draws in their home matches. This situation leaves the Sinaloan team with 3 points after six matchdays. El Gran Pez must now change course away from home, as their next commitment will be on September 3rd against Alteños de Tepatitlán at the Estadio Tepa Gómez, where they will aim to break their streak of two consecutive losses and start accumulating points again in the Liga de Expansión.
