DORADOS DE SINALOA RESCUE VICTORY AT THE LAST MINUTE AND KEEP LIGUILLA HOPES ALIVE
The Dorados de Sinaloa team secured an important away victory, winning 2-1 against the Tamaulipas squad, thanks to a goal from Brandon Ordorica in the 90+6th minute, when the match seemed destined for a draw. El Gran Pez took the lead in the 8th minute with a right-footed shot from their captain, Fernando González, who capitalized on the Sinaloans' offensive start to score the game's first goal.
The team managed by Luis Orozco maintained defensive order during the first half, but the home team found the equalizer in the 62nd minute through Vicente Emmanuel Torres, an Ecuadorian player who finished at the near post after a corner kick to make it 1-1. After the equalizer, both teams created opportunities in a hard-fought finish, although it was the Culiacán homegrown player Ordorica who took advantage of the final play to seal the score and give the Sinaloan squad three valuable points.
With this result, Dorados adds three points corresponding to the won match and keeps open the possibility of fighting for a spot in the final phase; however, to determine their current standing in the league and how close they are to the liguilla, it is necessary to confirm their previous points and the current tournament standings. El Gran Pez's next commitment will be on October 24th, when they host Piratas de Veracruz at El Encanto stadium, a match in which they will seek to extend the momentum from this victory and move closer to their goal of advancing to the next round.
