AFAS Working to Have Sinaloan National Flag Football Players

Culiacán, Sin.- "One of our goals is to have some Sinaloans on the national Flag Football team in the near future. That's why we're holding state selection tournaments and will soon participate in a National Federation tournament. We're working towards that."

Declared Jorge Guzmán Morales, president of the Sinaloa American Football Association (AFAS), in an interview with Tropheo.

"The Mexican Federation's National Flag tournament is in November. The venue should be confirmed this Saturday at the FMFA National Congress," he added.

Mexican Flag Football is a world power. The women's team recently secured a spot in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. They have also won world championships, and Mexican players like Diana Flores are international celebrities; she is even the face of the NFL.

Sinaloa wishes to be part of that success, which is why they are working, Jorge Guzmán reiterated. He also announced that they will have a Flag tournament in Mazatlán in September. This tournament will serve to begin player registration with the Mexican Federation, making them eligible for national tournaments like the one in November, with the venue yet to be determined.
